Glendale Morning Run

I had a good morning run in Glendale.  It was very hilly there, but cool early in the morning.

The sign of the city.

Looking north at Brand Boulevard.

Some yards had sprinklers - to keep the turf green.

Without it, grass would not do well as below.

Impressive palm trees on Royal Boulevard.

I had quite a climb towards north - views of the hills.

A typical of the roads.

Nibley Park on Mountain Street.

This yard had cucti.

This narrow yard tried to look better with some bushes.

Another view on Brand Boulevard - this time looking south.

Cool reflections of palm trees on a window glass of a building.

A asphalted field.

The view from my hotel room.

A Golden Week 2018 Run - Asagaya

I went for a nice run around Asagaya Station.

Beautiful iris flowers roadside on the way to Asagaya.

Asagaya Station seen from the south side.

Religious idols made circa 1691.

A nice shopping area - Minami-Asagaya Suzuran-dori Shotengai.

A runner on a narrow street south of the JR train tracks.

A yellow iris flower had insects on it.

A very narrow path - covered up Momozono River.  The covering up work was completed around 1970.

Asagaya Chuo Park- it was a nice little Children's playground.

Oisenomori Jidoyuen Park - a shrine used to be here.

A-san no Niwa (Garden of Mr. A).

Fukuno Yotaka Matsuri (Festival)

On Tuesday, I was very lucky to be there for Fukuno Yotaka Matsuri Festival.  The sleepy old town was very lively with giant lantern floats parading through its narrow streets.

Homes displayed little lanterns.

A store displayed old dolls and pictures.

There were so many people on streets.

On the following morning, I went for a run - it was foggy.

The parking lot view from my hotel room.

A children's float was parked by a street.

The street leading to the main shrine.

The entrance to the shrine.

Nobody in the streets - only the marks left by the floats.

One of the floats I saw the night before.

Posters of the festival.

A train car painted with Ninja Hattori-kun.

A very tall lantern float - shows how tall they used to be before telephone lines.
